Gallery Hop Stops

Our gallery hop event will be Friday, June 9, 5:30 – 8pm, at 16 locations, plus special exhibits in the McKinney Conference Center and the log courthouse in Constitution Square. Also, live music by Travis Kern at Danville Bike and Footwear.

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides operating support to the Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.


Nominations   Applicants may be nominated by a teacher, parent/guardian or arts instructor. Awards are determined without regard to sex, race, religion, country of origin by an impartial group of members of the Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County, and are authorized by its Board of Directors.

Eligibility   To receive a scholarship award, not to exceed $150, children must meet the following criteria:
1.  live or attend school (including home schools) in Boyle County, Kentucky
2. be between the age of 3 and 18
3.  have financial need
4.  demonstrate interest in an arts activity.

Qualifying Activities   Examples of activities that qualify for an annual award include:

  • private or class lessons in music, art, dance, or drama
  • participation in a community arts organization, such as:
  • Heritage Area String Program
  • Danville Children’s Choir
  • West T. Hill Community Theatre
  • participation in a regional, state, or national competition (such as associated travel expenses)
  • musical instrument rental

Acknowledgments   In accepting these funds, the arts organization or instructor agrees to acknowledge support provided by the Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County in material published by that organization or instructor for the duration of the child’s participation and to provide copies of the publication to the Arts Commission. This acknowledgment should include the following statement:
