Gallery Hop Stops

Our downtown Danville gallery hop event will be Friday, June 9, from 5:30 to 8pm. There will be special exhibits in the McKinney Conference Center, the log courthouse building in Constitution Square with music on the stage.

West T. Hill Community Theatre
Named in honor of its founder West T. Hill, this organization has been the foundation of amateur theater in our community for more than three decades. It offers five to six high-quality productions each season. From modern drama, popular musicals, and full-length productions to original one-act plays and a children’s production‚ West T. Hill Community Theatre presents a variety of theatrical experiences. Other offerings each year include play reading week‚ a popular children’s summer theater camp called CAMPCAUSEWELOVETOACT, and one-day workshops for kids (5 years and up) to introduce them to both auditioning and acting processes. Pioneer PlayhousePioneer Playhouse
Founded more than sixty years ago, Danville’s Pioneer Playhouse is Kentucky‚Äôs original outdoor theater. With professional actors, who come here from New York for the summer, the season features five plays from mid-June to mid-August. The complex features a campground, a 19th-century village, and pieces from the set of the MGM Civil War epic Raintree County, some of which was filmed more than fifty years ago in Boyle County. Theater-goers can opt for a picnic-style supper on the patio prior to performances, which go on rain or shine. More information is available at

Students in the dramatic arts program at Centre College present two or more major productions each year, as well as one-act plays directed by senior students.
